In late 2010, Mónica founded The Hispanic Coalition NY, Inc., where she serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. The organization is committed to empowering the Hispanic community through education on important educational, social, economic and political issues. The organization focuses on connecting the Latino community and works to promote achievements in this fast growing demographic group.
The Hispanic Coalition NY's mission is to empower through education and by serving as a forum for engaging the public in a cultural exchange of ideas and views on social, civic, educational, and economic issues affecting the Hispanic-Latino Community. The Hispanic Coalition NY is a non-partisan, non-sectarian and non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the Hispanic-Latino community in our society. The organization is a non-profit corporation incorporated in the State of New York.
The organization's signature program is NY's 40 Under 40 Rising Stars and Rising Star of the Year Award Recognition. The 40 Under 40 Rising Stars program recognizes members of the Hispanic/Latino community under the age of 40 who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and achievements in the areas of business, educations, politics, non-profit sector, community service, and more.
The Rising Star of the Year Award recognizes the contributions of outstanding leadership through an individuals’ commitment in the areas of business, educations, politics, non-profit sector, community service, and more. The Rising Stars shall have demonstrated a quality of performance that indicates they are Leaders among their peers and will continue to develop into distinguished members in their community.
